Information We Collect
Account information. When you register, we collect your name and email address to create and secure your account.
Challenge and progress information. We store the challenges you create or join, your check-ins, streaks, completion rates, badges, and related progress data so you can track your consistency over time.
Community information. Posts, comments, and reactions you contribute to The Forward Circle or challenge discussions are stored and, where relevant, shown to other members.
How Ask Simon Uses Your Information
To give you personalized coaching, Ask Simon may use a summary of your active challenges, streaks, recent check-ins, and earned badges as context when generating responses. This helps Simon reference your actual journey rather than offering generic advice. You can use the platform without Ask Simon if you prefer.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate HabitForward, provide features like check-ins and notifications, personalize your experience, communicate with you about your account and the platform, and improve and maintain the service over time.
Third-Party Providers
To run the platform, we rely on third-party providers that may process certain data on our behalf. These may include providers for payment processing, authentication, email delivery, hosting and data storage, and analytics. Each provider operates under its own terms, and we do not control their separate practices. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
HabitForward may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended without them.
Community Visibility
Posts and comments you share in The Forward Circle may be visible to other members of the community. Content within private challenge discussions is visible to the participants of that challenge. Be mindful of what you share in community spaces.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make such a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
Data Retention and Security
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal or operational needs. We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure. We cannot promise absolute security, and you acknowledge that you share information with the platform at your own risk.
Children's Privacy
HabitForward is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable notice, and continued use of HabitForward after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Contact Information
If you have questions about this policy or your data, please contact the founder, Courtney Simons, Ph.D., at courtney@habitforward.app.
